I find that if I'm away from home on a national holiday, I'd prefer to be where the locals aren't celebrating the same holiday that day... makes me less homesick. :)
Hubby saved you some turkey, right? Lucky!

@Jami:
thanks! :) "fluffy"... that's EXACTLY it! You know, I have my poultry moments too. I try not to stress about it either -- I know that how I'll feel after is punishment enough. LOL
Wow, what else do we have in common!... Are you my non-Filipino American twin separated a birth?

@Jen Hill:
I think that's the reason why I'll never go completely veg. Eating fish is just such an easy (and tasty) way to get protein.
I love crockpots... I gotta get me one of those. I may not eat meat, but the mob here still does. :)Nenette Alejandria Mayorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04519714210354478057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554671041186726858.post-6955794240530053932008-10-21T20:07:00.000-05:002008-10-21T20:07:00.000-05:00Ethically, I am all for being a vegetarian, but fo...Ethically, I am all for being a vegetarian, but for ease and out of habit, I usually eat some form of meat daily.

I recently discovered good results while cooking a turkey in a Crockpot. A smaller bird fits well, and I season it and add a little bit of stock at the bottom, cover and turn it over once or twice while cooking. 6 hours later voila, super tender fall-apart turkey meat.

I also love to make turkey soup with lots of veggies and noodles with the leftovers.Jen Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04330865463813652213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554671041186726858.post-87409750957862668002008-10-21T11:01:00.000-05:002008-10-21T11:01:00.000-05:00I have been pescetarian for the past year too. And...I have been pescetarian for the past year too. And like you, I have tried a bit of cow a few times when Bionic Hubby offers me some... I always regret it immediately. My stomach gets all "fluffy" and starts grumbling. I love my veggies and fish. And my body seems so much healthier without all the beef and pork. Now... I will admit I cheat with chicken and turkey. For some reason, I just can't give up my Chick-fil-a every 3 months and Fried Chicken chunks over a salad with ranch dressing. But I try to do it in moderation. ;)

Happy belated Thanksgiving, Nen! Congrats on your wonderful hammy!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554671041186726858.post-41528762746650428732008-10-16T10:33:00.000-05:002008-10-16T10:33:00.000-05:00Mmmm... glazed ham.
