Maybe you want spruce gum? It's expensive to buy (http://www.naturallist.com/gum.htm) but if you live near a park with a lot spruce trees, it's free. I recommend the town park in Gimli, when I was a kid we got a lot of gum from those trees.
It must have sugar in it, but it would be sugar from the trees, not processed sugar.

Ginger has also been touted as diminishing the effects of car sickness. I know people who have had some success with little hard ginger candies from Chinatown. I can't find them on the WWW but the ones I do find on the WWW look more sugary than the one's I'm familiar with (which do contain some sugar but probably not as much as a Slurpee).

Stopped chewing gum when I moved to Singapore 8+ years ago. Haven't chewed gum since - even though I now live in a country that allows them again. :-)

most of the gum that is available on amazon is sweetened with one of the sugar alcohols, such as xylotol or maltitol. unfortunately, that disturbs my stomach, so i dont consume it anymore. i haven't recently come across gum sweetened with aspartame. but i understand your concern, given the shadiness of this artificial sweetner.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll be heading over to EatIt... They sell Glee Gum... I'm going to check that out. It's made with cane sugar, but all of the ingredients are natural, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

I don't chew gum, so I can't say if it's any good. Haven't done a lot of research about xylitol either.

I'll be picking up vitamins there sometime soon... I can get a pack if you want to try it.
